OVERVIEW
Evolving is a delicately cabled knit, featuring cabled textures throughout the yoke and additional cabling at the sides of the body and above the sleeve cuffs. The name “Evolving” is inspired by the cabled textures, which grow in size and complexity as the yoke progresses.
CONSTRUCTION
Evolving is worked top-down, in the round. It starts with a ribbed neckband, into which short row shaping is worked. Immediately from the neckband the design proceeds into cabled textures which continue throughout the majority of the yoke. After separating the yoke into body and sleeves, additional short row shaping can be worked around the underarms if desired, then the majority of the body is worked in stockinette. At each side of the body, just above the waistband, a little extra cable detail is worked, echoing the design of the yoke. The sleeves are also worked in stockinette, with regular decreases staggered down each length, and another cable detail is worked just above the cuffs.
COLOURWAYS
Rachel’s sample has been worked using Telling Yarns’ Resolute base in colourway Natural. Beth’s sample is knit with Resolute in the colourway Monstress.
