I wear my knitwear almost exclusively through the autumn and winter months, plus a tonne through spring and even cooler days in summer. I have some very beautiful colourwork knits that bring me great joy in both their look and their accomplishment. Without doubt though, conspicuous by their absence within my wardrobe, are hand knits that suit the office. We’re talking chic, professional, simple, monochrome.

2025 is the year this changes.
I plan to focus on choosing projects that fill the holes in my existing wardrobe. While focusing on less busy patterns, I didn’t want to lose the chance to learn and develop though. I’m therefore going to use this year to hone my knitting practice. Using knitwear designers’ videos; YouTube tutorials; and a selection of books, I will zero in on the best way to complete the various elements that go into each garment or accessory that I craft.
Hopefully, throughout the creation of this capsule wardrobe, I will also be able to share my learnings, successes/failures and yarn suggestions.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, then follow along here on my blog and over on the Telling Yarns YouTube channel, where I plan to film monthly catch-ups detailing my progress.
